The SSI Dive Guide / Divemaster course is designed for experienced divers who want to build leadership skills, increase their dive knowledge, and learn how to safely guide certified divers.
You’ll develop stronger skills in dive planning, problem-solving, group management, navigation, safety, and professional-level diving while gaining valuable real-world experience.
Course Schedule
The class will meet Tuesday nights for 5 weeks, beginning Tuesday, September 8.
Candidate Prerequisites
To begin the program, candidates must:
• Be at least 15 years old for Dive Guide or 18 years old for Divemaster
• Have at least 40 logged open-water dives totaling 25 hours or more
• Hold an SSI Diver Stress & Rescue certification, or an equivalent certification from a recognized training agency
Candidates must also have training or documented experience in:
• Deep Diving
• Navigation
• Night & Limited Visibility
These requirements may be met through the appropriate SSI specialty certification, an equivalent certification from another recognized training agency, or by providing proof of at least five logged experience dives in each specialty area.
